Sick of feeling tired and unmotivated all the time? Especially when it is the season of ‘Goal setting’. Instead of goal setting you feel reluctant and uninspired and that makes you feel worse.
Yes we could go into diet and examine what your sleeping patterns are like. But it is much simpler than that. It is about how you feel about you.
From my use of Rapid Transformational Therapy I have seen how you can stop feeling tired and unmotivated all the time. For example think about when you have been at a party or in a work meeting. Then someone walks into the room and instantly the energy drops. The silence is deafening and you don’t feel okay. You notice you feel uncomfortable because that person has that effect on you and most people in the room. Know it well?
Well here’s the thing. We can do that to ourselves. We can sap our own energy. Like the person walking into the room in the example above. They have changed the mood in the room just by entering it. How did they do it? Heavy thoughts leave you feeling drained and it can impact others. As a friend of mine once said, ‘You can either light up a room or stink up a room.’ Your thoughts are potent.
A Quick Exercise To Understand Why You Feel Tired And Unmotivated
To illustrate, a friend of mine was struggling with anxiety. She asked for my help. After a bit of discussion I said to her it is not about ‘not thinking’ it is about what thoughts you entertain and for how long. She asked me to explain.
So I got her to think of bad thoughts, or angry thoughts (I would only recommend doing this for the exercise). As she was doing this I asked her how she felt. ‘Dreadful,’ she replied. She went onto describe what she was feeling in her body and where. Then I asked her to think good thoughts.Or remember a holiday she enjoyed or something she was proud of. There was a group of us there and we watched on. Immediately she sat upright and her face changed dramatically. ‘What do you feel now?’ I asked. She took a moment to reply and answered, ‘Much better’, with a big smile on her face.
Her energy changed and the energy around her changed and that influenced the group of people there as well.
Try it yourself. And you’ll understand why a room becomes quiet and irritable when certain people walk into it. So if you are feeling tired and unmotivated the first big thing you can do for yourself is to check your thinking. If it is that voice of stress and anxiety battling with a part of you—change the record. Change your focus.
Personally I liken it to driving. If my mind starts getting stuck in a negative pattern, I see it like going over the white line while driving. You need to pull yourself back to the right side of the road. Change your thinking and it will change your energy.
